While movies and fashion always create a buzz on the Internet, what about the food scene at Cannes? Who’s making noise in there? Well, it’s India again! Apart from Indian actors, the Indian culinary scene is seen representing India at Cannes Film Festival 2022. Indian chef Manu Chandra makes it big after getting an invite from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to manage the catering for the India Pavilion at Cannes. Along with that, the chef is also the main name behind the Cannes inaugural dinner. Here’s a little more insight into the whole event of taking India to the world by Chef Manu.
Chef Manu’s Menu For Cannes, A Sweet Reminiscence Of His Homeland
Talking about his big day in a lot of interviews, Manu Chandra shares the process of curating the menu for Cannes 2022. And what better than a menu that reminisces his homeland India right? The chef aims to take India to the world and after Cannes 2022 we can already see it happening. The chef’s kachori done in croissant dough is still the talk of the town! At the inaugural dinner, his menu is seen giving Indian dishes a French twist. From Paniyaram Madeleines to Mutton Biryani Arancini Balls served with Burani raita, each dish will remind you of India. However, the stand-out dish is our very homely Khichdi. The dish is seen being a side dish with laal maas. For the chef, Khichdi means comfort. And we are glad France got a chance to witness India’s comfort this year.
