Indian Nationals Banned To Enter Kuwait, Saudi Arabia Via UAE

The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has made a special announcement for Indian nationals. Indian nationals are now advised to not travel to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait via the UAE. Here’s everything you must know about this update.

The Indian Mission Has Advised Stranded Travellers To Return To India

The Indian mission has updated an advisory on Twitter, which states that due to the covid-19 restrictions, Indian nationals will no longers be able to transit via Dubai and Abu Dhabi to neighbouring Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It has come into place, keeping the covid-19 rules and cases in mind.

The embassy has all advised the stranded travellers in the UAE to consider returning to India. The authorities are asking the people to make future travel plans only restrictions in the final destination countries are lifted. According to the Indian Consulate official in Dubai, at least 600 Indians who wanted to travel to Saudi Arabia are stranded in the UAE since December 2020. The offical further added,

“Due to the fast-evolving international travel protocols, the missions strongly advise all travellers to avoid going to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait using transit routes to avoid the inconvenience of being stranded in the UAE.”

Authorities Have Also Advised Passengers To Carry Extra Funds For Emergency 

The stranded passengers were initially provided special travel arrangements by the missions with assistance from the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre and other social organisations- however, such facilities won’t be made available any more.

The advisory states that all Indian nationals are requested to learn the latest Covid-19-related travel guidelines of their final destination country before embarking on an onward journey from India. They are also advised to carry enough personal provisions and funds to cater to any emergency requirements.
