Covid-19 cases in the UAE are on the rise and to curb the spread of the cases, Abu Dhabi has now announced new safety measures in the emirate. In an update announced by Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, seating capacity at the restaurants, malls and other attractions have now been reduced. Here’s everything you must know.

Restaurants, Cafes And Hotels Can Now Operate Only At 60 Per Cent Capacity
As per the new update which came into effect from Sunday, February 7, all cinemas will now be closed in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, parties and gatherings are no longer permitted in the capital. Shopping malls, gyms, restaurants, beaches, swimming pools, parks, gyms and public transport have new permitted operating capacities.

A Maximum Of 10 People Can Attend Weddings Now
For operating capacities, restaurants, cafes, and hotels can now function at a cap of 60 per cent. Shopping malls can only work at 40 per cent of guest capacity. For private beaches and swimming pools, they will be now allowed to operate at only 50 per cent capacity. Whereas, public beaches and parks 60 per cent and gyms 50 per cent capacity.

Functions like marriage ceremonies and other family gatherings can only have a maximum of ten people. And only 20 people can attend a funeral or mourning service.
Meanwhile, you will now need the Al Hosn App to cross the Abu Dhabi border. The update means that text message or certificates will no longer be accepted.

The update has been announced by Abu Dhabi police. And they are now asking citizens to use the app instead of text messages or certificates. In terms of covid-19 tests, at present, everyone entering the capital will have to present a negative test taken in the past 48 hours. Besides this, people entering Abu Dhabi will also have to take a second and third PCR test on the fourth and eighth days in the emirate.

However, if you are entering Abu Dhabi with a negative DPI test, you’ll need to take a PCR test on day three and seven in the emirate. And if you miss on the testing, you have to pay hefty fines for the same.
Besides this, travellers arriving from non-green list countries will have to quarantine for ten days and get a PCR test on day eight to end quarantine on day ten. So if you are planning to travel to Abu Dhabi soon, keep these things in mind.
