After a two-year pandemic break, Indian travellers are finally getting out of their homes and exploring places while choosing Airbnbs across India as their temporary abodes. According to the latest Airbnb data, tourists love enjoying the tranquility of nature and most likely prefer non-urban destinations like Haldwani, Jibhi, Bir, and Varkala. The ‘Air Bed and Breakfast’ rental agency revealed that its bookings of non-urban nights in India within the second quarter of calendar 2022 have made a 140% improvement in comparison with the corresponding quarter in 2019.
Airbnb Is Delighted To See Vacationers’ Love For New Off-Beat Indian Locations
According to Airbnb India data, non-urban destinations like Haldwani, Jibhi, Bir, and Varkala have seen immense development within the variety of searches in the second quarter of 2022 in comparison with the second quarter of 2019. The data reveals that Haldwani and Uttarakhand have 330% development while Jibhi, Himachal Pradesh grew over 270%. Furthermore, Bir in Himachal Pradesh and Varkala in Kerala made development by 240% in the second quarter of 2022. Speaking about the same, Amanpreet Bajaj, Normal Supervisor for India, Southeast, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, revealed, “We’re seeing a basic shift in a journey that’s creating tangible alternatives for communities that lay off-the-beaten-track. It’s extremely thrilling to see vacationers’ enthusiasm for exploring new locations, in addition to the constructive financial influence they’re creating on the native communities.” Amanpreet Bajaj further added that the new shift in preferences of Indian travellers in terms of non-urban destinations and off-beat locations is empowering locals of those areas to diversify their income through hosting on Airbnb and building financial resilience.

Key Indian Cities For Long-Term Stays
Apart from revealing about the preference of Indian travellers for non-urban destinations and off-beat Indian Locations, Airbnb also mentioned that the key cities in India that made to the top on Airbnb India for long-term stays within the second quarter of 2022 have been Arambol, Naggar, Kullu, Agonda and Almora. As per the study on Airbnb India, non-urban nights booked for long-term stays (28 days-plus) within India have doubled when evaluating the second quarter of 2019.
