On March 21, the Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari revealed that Indians can visit the pilgrimage site Kailash Mansarovar via Uttarakhand instead of travelling through China or Nepal. A road carved from Pithoragarh will ferry passengers straight to Mansarovar, which is one of the most majestic Himalayan spots. Mansarovar is of utmost religious importance to Lord Shiva devotees, as it’s believed to be Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva.
Travel To Mansarovar From Uttarakhand By December 2023
According to a report by The Print, Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed that the road from Pithoragarh to Mansarovar will be hassle-free and smooth. It will cut the need for the current treacherous trek. A significant pilgrimage site for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains, Mansarovar often needed to be accessed through Nepal and China. But not anymore. Gadkari stated to the Parliament that several religious projects including the Mansarovar road will be ready before the 2024 general elections. In fact, the road from Uttarakhand to Mansarovar will be functional by December 2023.

Government Building 28 Highways For Emergency Landings Of Helicopters & Ambulances
The minister also stated to Parliament that his department shall build 28 highways for helicopters and planes to land in case of any emergency. Apart from the Mansarovar project, the 258km long Ram Van Gaman Marg, connecting Ayodhya to Chitrakoot will also be ready by the end of 2023. Currently, the government is working on developing various tourism circuits associated with Lord Rama. Meanwhile, here are some unusual temples in India you must visit.
