After a dry spell of more than two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international flights from India finally resumed on March 28, 2022. This move will give a much-needed boost to the travel sector of India. Also, more and more people are opting for luxury travel now. As EaseMyTrip told to Bloomberg Television, bookings for five-star hotels and business class flight tickets have increased by double amount from the pre-pandemic levels. Indians are now ready to splurge after dealing with the pandemic blues for a long time.

Aviation Industry Expecting Huge Revival

According to the Bloomberg report, Indian Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has stated that the aviation industry might have to add around 120 aeroplanes each year to cater to the pent-up travel demand. After the resumption of international travel, the aviation industry anticipates passenger footfall to surpass pre-pandemic levels. The aviation industry and the travel industry as a whole are thus expecting a huge revival post-pandemic.

Ministry of Civil Aviation Relaxed Travel Rules

An increased number of travellers are booking flights now, giving a boost to the aviation sector. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has also relaxed COVID-19 curbs recently for both crew members and passengers. As per the new rules, the crew members can skip wearing PPE kits. Airlines do not need to keep three seats empty for international flights. Pat-down searching has also resumed for passengers at security.

5-star hotel bookings are also gaining momentum as passengers are prioritising luxury and comfort.
