The next time you fly, here’s what you need to know. With a drop in Covid-19 cases, a boost in vaccinations, your flying experience is also going back to normalcy. This means that cabin crew members may no longer wear PPE kits, airlines will not keep three seats vacant on international flights and airports will resume pat-down search of flyers. Here’s everything you need to know about the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s relaxed rules.

Ministry Of Civil Aviation Relaxes Rules Amid Decline In Covid-19 Cases

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has relaxed Covid-19 guidelines from March 21 onwards. In a bid to resume smooth conduct of air operations, pat-down search by security personnel at airports is once again reintroduced. It was banned for a few years to maintain social distancing guidelines. But now with the world going back to normalcy, it has been reintroduced. However, during this process, security personnel must mandatorily wear an N-95 Mask and sanitise hands after each pat-down search.

Cabin Crew Don’t Need To Wear PPE Kits & Pat-Down Search Reintroduced

India permitted domestic flight operations at full capacity from October 28, 2021. And now scheduled international flight operations shall also resume from March 27, 2022, which was banned since the advent of the pandemic. The Ministry of Civil Aviation’s relaxed Covid-19 guidelines also doesn’t require cabin crew to don PPE kits or for international flights to leave three seats vacant in times of medical emergencies. However, airlines must keep additional PPE suits, sanitisers, N-95 masks handy to combat any respiratory or airborne infections.
