India’s First Flying Taxis Will Debut In THIS City; No, It’s Not Delhi Or Bengaluru!

A Chennai-based startup, The ePlane Company, is currently building India’s first flying air taxis, the e200x. The company will use advanced simulation and computing technologies to make these e-taxis a reality in India. Here’s everything you need to know about this.

Chennai Start-Up Working On India’s First Flying Taxi

According to a report by The Times of India, the Chennai-based startup is using advanced technology from Nvidia. The engineers have created a highly detailed ‘digital twin’ of the aircraft using Nvidia Omniverse software. This will allow them to test flight physics, sensors and even imaginary scenarios in a virtual world before the real aircraft or the flying taxis take to the skies!

Moreover, the company will also use Nvidia’s computing platform. It will allow the aircraft to process data from cameras and radars, helping the air taxis make safe and real-time decisions. The ePlane Company aims to make urban air travel safer and more reliable by introducing India’s first air taxis. The concept is pretty cool, right?

It May Boost India’s Aviation Sector

According to The Times of India, the collaboration opens up new opportunities for India’s aviation sector. High-performance computing requires powerful GPUs to replicate physics in real time. Moreover, the digital twin can also function as a predictive analytics engine. It will mirror the configuration of actual aircraft components. This will help engineers determine maintenance needs before a failure occurs.

Apart from being a simulation, this digital twin of the flying taxi will also act as a time machine for safety. It will accelerate the pace of innovation so that safety is not compromised. If the Chennai-based startup succeeds in this project, we might just have India’s first flying taxis soon! It will definitely transform how people commute.
