The premium GI-tagged Rewa Sundarja mangoes have officially landed in the UAE market. This is a premium variety of mangoes from India, and it marks an important milestone in the global journey of one of the most distinct fruits, which hail from the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. As mentioned by the official account of the Embassy of India in the UAE, the first consignment was exported on June 26th, 2026. It waited one metric tonne, and here’s all you need to know about this development.
Rewa Sundarja Mangoes Arrive In UAE
Farmer Producer Organisations were brought together by the export chains. These mangoes were sourced from the Seondha Farmer Producer Company Limited, as revealed in a report of the Gulf News. The produce was packed at an APEDA-supported facility in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.
These exports marked a significant boost for the local farmers. After all, the mango variety fetches ₹100 to 110 per kilogram in domestic markets. While in the export chain, it can receive about ₹150 per kg.

The mango is famous for its rich aroma and fibreless pulp and has a natural sweetness. And it has also joined India’s growing list of GI-recognised agricultural exports. GI tags are important for boosting global identity. It plays an important role in building a distinct identity for region-specific produce.
