Delhi’s Hauz Khas has a charm of its own! With exquisite architecture, a lake, recreational parks, and a plethora of eateries, it is one of the most unique places in Delhi. We explored the lovely lanes of Hauz Khas with storyteller, Jai Singh, on this fascinating episode of Tere Gully Mein. He is known for this famous show called ‘Mohabbat Zindabad’. True Hauz Khas lovers know we had to pop into Social, the popular cafe to indulge in lip-smacking food while enjoying a pleasant view.

Storyteller Jai Singh Explored Hauz Khas

Delhiites know that Hauz Khas is an emotion. It pulls you closer with each art gallery, new restaurant, designer label, and historic monument. India’s Greatest Storyteller, Jai Singh’s adda in South Delhi is Hauz Khas Social and that was the first stop for our food trail.

Jai shared, “I come here very frequently. You will find me in Hauz Khas a couple of times a month. I come here to just vibe or eat a delicious South Indian meal at Naivedyam. I keep coming to Hauz Khas; this is like my second home basically. I love Hauz Khas Social because of the vibe this place offers. I don’t feel out of place when I come to this area.” 

Hardcore Delhiites will relate to every word as this portion of South Delhi has a comforting environment when it comes to food, shopping, monuments and more. Next, we went to the popular Chaat Corner to relish tasty, masaledar aloo chaat and dahi bhalla.

Jai Singh talked about a music store located in the narrow lanes of Hauz Khas. He mentioned a website called ‘Pagal World.’ Readers, does it ring any bells? People used to download songs from this site when Spotify or other music apps weren’t launched in India.

This hidden gem was the brick-and-mortar music store of pagalworld.com. It’s called the Pagal Records Store. He said, “They have bought a store where they keep vinyl records, vintage stuff and more.” It is a very cool place; music lovers should surely visit.
