Founded by Vamsi Mareddy and Sandeep Nagaiah, Paper & Pie brings together a refined aesthetic, top-notch coffee, and a gourmet menu crafted with the freshest ingredients. With its clean design and focus on quality, this café is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee; it’s an experience that seamlessly blends comfort and sophistication. We had the pleasure of speaking with Vamsi Mareddy, Co-Founder of Paper & Pie, who shared insights into their journey, vision, and future plans.

Launched in 2022, Paper & Pie opened its flagship store in Indiranagar, a bustling neighbourhood renowned for its eclectic mix of eateries. “We wanted to create a space that wasn’t just another café but a place where people could work, relax, and enjoy top-notch coffee and food,” Vamsi Mareddy shared. The café quickly gained traction, leading to the opening of additional outlets in Whitefield and RMZ Ecoworld at Bellandur. Today, Paper & Pie operates three thriving locations, drawing an impressive average footfall of over 10,000 customers each month—a testament to its growing popularity.

The café’s appeal lies not just in its meticulously curated menu but also in its commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience. The blend of premium Chikmagalur coffee with gourmet offerings reflects Paper & Pie’s dedication to quality. “Our approach was simple: Just provide the best experience for every customer, from the coffee to the food we serve,” Vamsi explained. This philosophy has resonated with Bangalore’s café enthusiasts, making Paper & Pie a beloved spot in the city’s vibrant food scene.

In January 2024, Paper & Pie had the honour of representing India at the World of Coffee Exhibition in Dubai. This global platform provided a unique opportunity to showcase the café’s offerings alongside those of international brands. “Participating in the exhibition was a great experience. It allowed us to showcase our brand on a global stage and explore potential collaborations,” Vamsi remarked. The event not only highlighted Paper & Pie’s commitment to excellence but also offered insights into the global coffee market, further fuelling the café’s ambition for international expansion.

Amid Bangalore’s rapidly evolving café culture, Paper & Pie has carved out a niche by staying true to its core values. “Our goal is to offer freshly made, convenient food with coffee beverages so every customer has a reason to visit any time of the day,” Vamsi noted. This vision is complemented by innovative features like a conference room for meetings and a podcast room for content creators, setting Paper & Pie apart from its competitors.

The rise of remote work has also contributed to the café’s success. With the trend of working from cafés becoming increasingly popular, Paper & Pie’s environment caters to both professionals and creatives. “We’ve seen a significant increase in customers using our space for work and meetings, which aligns perfectly with our goal of creating a multifunctional space,” Vamsi added.

With its roots firmly planted in Bangalore, Paper & Pie is poised for further growth. The founders aim to open at least 20 outlets within the city and eventually expand to other major cities across India. “The biggest challenge is maintaining consistency and the essence of our brand as we grow,” Vamsi acknowledged. Ensuring that each new outlet meets the high standards set by the original location is crucial. Through continuous training and meticulous monitoring, the team at Paper & Pie is committed to overcoming these challenges and upholding their brand’s reputation.

Paper & Pie exemplifies how a café can evolve into a beloved institution by blending quality, innovation, and a deep understanding of customer needs. As Bengaluru’s café culture continues to thrive, Paper & Pie remains a shining example of what’s possible when passion and creativity come together.

Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or someone looking for a unique space to work and unwind, Paper & Pie offers an experience that is both memorable and delicious.
