Bhangarh is a 400-year-old fort, which was cursed by a saint after the walls of the huge fort shaded his home. Despite, telling Madho Singh that the fort should never cast a shadow on his home, huge walls were built. Following this, a curse engulfed the entire city of Bhangarh. On the other hand, it is also believed that the spirit of a princess roams the premises of Bhangarh fort after sunset. These are just a few of the horrifying tales that surround Bhangarh fort.

Why Are There Warning Signs? Is Bhangarh Fort Really Haunted?

A place of archaeological findings, there are a lot of warning signs in and around the fort that forbid visitors to stay within the premises of the fort after sunset. Foreigners are also forbidden to visit the fort. Due to a number of incidents and deaths, all precautions are taken to ensure there are no accidents or fatalities in the fort. As for foreigners, they need to obtain special permission to be able to visit the eerie Bhangarh fort.

The houses in the area do not have roofs and there have been several incidents when people have been hurt if they have tried to construct a roof on their houses. It is said that the curse of the sage is responsible for roofs collapsing.

There have been reports of several accidents where people have stayed after sunset and met with accidents. And a few even saw figures and ghosts. It is not only that the locals forbid visitors to stay in the fort at night, but the ASI itself asks tourists to refrain from breaking the rules and abide by them to avoid ill-fated circumstances.
