He is well-known for the popular program ‘Mohabbat Zindabad’ and his excellent storytelling abilities. During conversations, we learned about Jai’s favourite food haunts in Delhi and as true foodies, we were utterly impressed with his long list of suggestions. Read on to find out more.

These Are Jai Singh’s Favourite Delhi Restaurant

We were at the popular restaurant, Hauz Khas Social, to indulge in delectable food with a stunning view of the lush greens of South Delhi and the iconic green Hauz Khas Lake. We learned about Jai Singh’s favourite food haunts in Delhi. Foodies, get ready because he had a proper list of places with the best dishes on the menu.

The foodie in Jai was beyond excited to share his go-to eateries around the national capital. He began with Sana-Di-Ge on Malcha Marg. His favourite dishes to order off the menu are chicken ghee roast or paneer ghee roast with neer dosa and payasam. According to the Storyteller, it is the best payasam he has tried in Delhi.

Jai also loves to relish Naivedyam’s crispy dosa, butter dosa from Sagar Ratna in Defence Colony, Pindi’s Mughlai food and biryani and the iconic Gulati Restaurant’s butter chicken. For delicious kebabs, he revealed a hidden gem to Curly Tales. All you have to do is go to the Safdarjung Tomb and take the road opposite it. You will find a Karim’s outlet where you get soft and juicy kebabs. We have surely jotted down these suggestions for next time.

Chhattisgarh’s This Dish Blew His Mind

Jai Singh was talking about Delhi food and how he was surprised by some of the local Indian dishes. One such delicacy was Chhattisgarh’s Chapda Chutney. It is a spicy and traditional condiment made from red ants, their eggs, and a variety of spices. 

He praised this dish and urged folks to not shy away from trying this unique delicacy. He said, “It’s very delicious; sounds very gross but that was my idea as well how can one eat ants? But then I ate one and ate more of it.”
