The Jammu and Kashmir government raised an alert among the sweet condensed milk, Milkmaid consumers. The administration has directed people to avoid consuming Milkmaid as it is unsafe and below standard. After conducting sample testing, the mentioned direction has been issued. Read on to know why the government has asked people in Jammu and Kashmir to immediately stop using Milkmaid.
Why Is Nestle’s Milkmaid Being Banned In J&K?
Jammu and Kashmir’s Food and Drug Administration informed that after performing a sample test on a milkmaid product, they found it unsafe for consumption. Food Safety Officer, Zone II, Srinagar, picked this sample from a store in Srinagar itself. Following this, the sample was sent to Food Analyst, National Food Laboratory, Ghaziabad for testing. It was only then that the government declared its inadequacy in public.
Recall The Specific Numbered Products
After making the announcement and banning the milkmaid products, the government have also asked the relevant officials to recall the unsafe product from the market. One of the reasons why this product has been termed unsafe is because of the availability of the total plate count, which is above the limit. Certain discrepancies have been found on the limit of the milk solids in the condensed milk products. The latest reports tell that the product 00-520451ZA is highly unsafe for consumption & consumers must take note before they purchase milkmaid.
We recommend you check the product batch numbers before consuming the condensed milk, as it is still being produced. Netizens, too, have expressed their concerns about the safety and consumption standards of other Nestle products as well. Take a look –
