Jammu Kashmir’s Defence Land At Tattoo Ground To Be Soon Developed For Tourism, MoU Signed

Jammu and Kashmir is known to be one of those places in India that enjoys a huge inflow of tourists. The place is blessed with nature’s beauty and is rightfully known as ‘Paradise on Earth’. People will soon have more reasons to visit this place. 139.04 acres of defence land in Jammu and Kashmir will be used for tourism and other related activities. 

Jammu Kashmir’s Tattoo Ground To Be Soon Developed For Tourism

According to a press statement from Jammu and Kashmir’s Raj Bhawan, approximately 139.04 acres of defence land at Tattoo Ground in Batamaloo will be used for tourism and other associated activities. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence signed an MoU for the same.

At Raj Bhawan, the MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He described the MoU as a historic event for creating a significant tourism area in J&K. 

The Local Military Authority of Tattoo Ground Garrison and the Defence Estate Officer Kashmir Circle Srinagar served as the Ministry of Defence’s representatives. The Ministry of Defence, in 120 days will transfer ownership of the land.

Campaign To Remember Martyrs

The Lt. Governor thanked the Army for all the co-operation.  He remarked that the administration and security forces are committed to the wellbeing of the populace. Additionally, he stated that they would work hard and honestly to meet all of the requirements of the Memorandum of Understanding. 

They want to make the Kashmir Valley’s Tattoo Ground one of the most alluring tourist sites by promoting tourism and other related endeavours. 

According to the press release from Jammu and Kashmir, the Lt. Governor also spoke with senior Army officers about planning for Independence Day celebrations. This also included the “Mera Mati Mera Desh” campaign to remember the martyrs.

Senior officers of the Army and the UT Administration were present, along with Lt. General Rajiv Ghai, GOC 15 Corps, Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir, and Sh. Vijay Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. (As per Hindustan Times)
