The Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra route atop the Trikuta Hills in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed heavy rainfall, which triggered a landslide. According to The Times of India, the authorities had to temporarily suspend the battery car service on the route. The landslide occurred near Himkoti on the new track leading to the temple. Reportedly, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board deployed personnel and machinery to clear the debris and restore movement on the stretch.
The battery car facility will remain suspended until the route is cleared and declared safe again. But yes, the pilgrimage remained unaffected, as hundreds of devotees continued their journey to and from the shrine via the old yatra route. A video uploaded by an X user, @bittusharma84, showed the debris on the route.
