New York, a concrete jungle where dreams are made of, (sorry, we had to) is home to some of the biggest musical artists in the world. One such artist is rapper Jay-Z.  The celebrated rapper was brought up in Brooklyn and has always been proud of that fact. Now, to give back to the rapper, Brooklyn is honouring the renowned artist in the most prestigious way possible.

A New Jay-Z Exhibit Is Now Open In Brooklyn

Dedicated to one of hip-hop’s most influential figures, Jay Z, the exhibit is situated in the heart of Brooklyn. This unique exhibition celebrates the life and legacy of the legendary rapper, entrepreneur, and cultural icon.

The exhibit features a thoughtful selection of artefacts, personal keepsakes, and interactive displays. It offers visitors an opportunity to embark on a profound exploration of Jay-Z’s artistic growth.

Visitors can enjoy the free exhibition known as “The Book of HOV” at the Brooklyn Public Library.

Presented as a surprise by Roc Nation, this curated exhibit displays a wide range of valuable artefacts. These include original recording masters, rare photographs, iconic stage outfits, prestigious awards, and captivating videos, as per reports by TimeOut.

And, TimeOut also reported on some of the interior details of the exhibit. The report stated that upon entering, a striking sculpture crafted from volcanic ash and pyrite, depicts Jay-Z’s hands forming his iconic “throwing up the roc” symbol.

The sculpture leads into the huge library lobby, adorned with vibrant representations of his album covers and artwork. This also includes the famous sculpture featured on The Blueprint 3 album cover.

Anchoring the space is the impressive “Tower of Power,” a towering pillar projecting lyrics and captivating concert footage. Jay-Z shares a deep-rooted connection with his hometown of Brooklyn.

Born and raised in this vibrant borough of New York City, his career reflects his love for the place. From his humble beginnings in the Marcy Projects to becoming one of the most influential figures in the music industry, he has made a name for himself.

So, it comes as no surprise that the borough he has given so much love to wants to honour him back.
