In the Udaipur division, the forest department has completed preparations for this season. The division includes Jaisamand, Kumbhalgarh, and Bassi sanctuaries. Every year, these sanctuaries attract thousands of visitors eager to experience Rajasthan’s rich wildlife.
As a special initiative, Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary will offer free safaris to 100 children on the first day. Local school students will have the chance to explore the sanctuary. They will learn about the region’s diverse wildlife during this memorable outing. It’s a great opportunity for children to connect with nature and understand the importance of conservation. The sanctuary offers two safari rounds daily, and 53 vehicles are registered to provide this service.

At Jaisamand Sanctuary, the forest department has repaired the tracks. The safaris will also operate in two rounds there: from 6 AM to 9 AM and from 4 PM to 6 PM. Currently, five vehicles are operational, with more expected as the season progresses. The ticket costs ₹649 per person. Tickets can be booked both online and offline, providing convenience for visitors. Jeep safaris in all sanctuaries are closed from July 1 to September 30 every year due to the monsoon. With the end of the rains, the adventure has resumed.
Jaisamand Sanctuary offers two safari routes — one 14 km long and the other 22 km. These routes give visitors ample time to explore and enjoy the beauty of the forest. The safari takes you through thick forest tracks, where the excitement of spotting wildlife keeps you on edge. Jeep safaris were first started in Jaisamand in May of the previous year, adding to the appeal of the sanctuary.

For bird watchers, the sanctuary is also a paradise, with peacocks being a particular highlight. Every turn of the track presents a chance to witness the magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The gate to Jaisamand is located on the Udaipur-Banswara highway, making it easily accessible for tourists.
