‘Looking at the growing trend of passengers going unruly during flight and risking the lives of other passengers, the railways is also mulling to ban such passengers for a few months,’ a senior railway official was reported as saying. Those who will be on the no-travel list of Indian railways will also be banned from booking train tickets as well.

What Led To This?

On January 28, 2020, stand-up artist Kunal Kamra was accused of ‘heckling’ a journalist on a domestic airline. After the video made it to the social media platforms, Indigo airlines made an announcement that the artist will be banned from travelling on the airline for next 6 months. Not just that, Air India, SpiceJet and GoAir followed the suit.

There have been various incidents where prominent people have been disturbed during their flight. This has led to fellow passengers being disturbed as well. The Railway officials feel that such kind of unruly behaviour can also be a threat to other people travelling on the same route.

So fellow travellers, whether justified to not, there is a high possibility that if you make it to the no-fly list of an airline company, you’ll make it to the no-travel list of Indian Railways too.
