A few days ago, a SpiceJet flight was delayed by nearly 7 hours. Frustrated passengers created a ruckus, asking the crew to stop the aircraft from taking off due to a lack of air conditioning. This was the same Delhi-Mumbai flight where two passengers were offloaded after they attempted to enter the cockpit.

In a viral video posted by X user @gharkekalesh, passengers are seen arguing with the crew on a SpiceJet flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai on July 14, as reported by The Indian Express. The chaos broke out after the air conditioning systems on board were found to be non-operational. Several passengers expressed their frustration and urged the crew to halt the flight from taking off.
In the video, a woman tells two SpiceJet flight attendants to turn on the AC, saying she has paid in full for her ticket and expects basic services. A man seated behind her joins in, asking the staff, “Kab tak chalega AC?” and to stop the aircraft until the issue is resolved, saying it could pose a serious risk to passengers. He adds that they would rather take another flight as their lives matter more. He even brings up the Air India Ahmedabad–London flight incident, saying that the ACs had failed on that flight before the crash happened.
Crew Offloaded 2 Passengers On The Same Flight
The video also shows many passengers fanning themselves. The clip, which has now gained over 2 lakh views on X, shows multiple flyers complaining about feeling suffocated due to the heat. This was the same SpiceJet flight, SG 9282 from Delhi to Mumbai, where two passengers were offloaded on July 14. They had attempted to enter the cockpit while the aircraft was taxiing. The flight, scheduled to depart at 12:30 pm, finally took off at 7:21 pm.
Users were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section. One user wrote, “These airlines are not maintaining these aircraft & expect passengers to sit in the cabin without AC.” Another agreed and said, “Passengers did right. When they are charging for everything, then why will they not provide?”. However, some felt the passengers should have been more patient instead of creating a scene on board.

People on the internet seem divided: was it the airline’s fault for non-functional ACs, or did the passengers overreact? What do you think about the situation? Let us know.
