The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh invited our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for a Sunday Brunch at his beautiful Bhopal residence, where she got an exclusive tour of his house. After the tour, they sat down to enjoy MP’s staple delicacies, including Ragi Balushahi, Malpua, the all-time favourite Poha-Jalebi, and more. With a breathtaking lake view from his home, the duo relished the dishes and even played a fun game of ‘This or That.’ We gave CM Mohan Yadav a list of food items, asking him to pick his favourites. Let’s see what his food favourites are.
‘This Or That’ With Mohan Yadav
The age-old debate about where Poha-Jalebi originated, Indore or Bhopal, got a fun twist when Kamiya asked the CM himself to settle the matter. Without taking any sides, he smartly replied, “Ye toh hamare MP ka hi hai.” While enjoying the state’s staple snacks, we decided to make things fun with a round of ‘This or That.’ When Kamiya asked him to choose between Poha-Jalebi and Dal Bafla, he laughed and said, “Dekho dono alag-alag hai, ek nashta ka item hai aur doosra bhojan ka. Toh aap phas gaye isme.”
Since he couldn’t pick just one, he preferred having one for breakfast and the other for lunch. Next up was a choice between Kadhi Chawal and Bhutte Ka Khees, and his favourite turns out to be Bhutte Ka Khees. He is so fond of it that if he got Bhutte Ka Khees, he would forget the whole world.
Between Aloo Tamatar Sabzi and Baingan Ka Bharta, he chose his all-time favourite, Aloo Tamatar. Then came the tough choice between Sev Tamatar and Mixed Veg with Ghee Tadka. Without hesitation, he said, “Sev Tamatar! Agar sev mil jaye aadmi ko toh sabzi bhul jaye.” The CM revealed that he enjoys his lunch at home and rarely eats out. In fact, he hasn’t even explored Bhopal’s famous eateries because, for him, home-cooked food is simply the best.

Indore Or Bhopal; What Will He Choose?
As the food choices wrapped up, Kamiya asked Mohan Yadav the toughest question of all. She put the CM in a spot by asking him to choose between Indore and Bhopal. But Mohan Yadav, in his signature smart style, replied, “Dekho, CM ki seat toh Bhopal mein hi rahegi, lekin mere rajya mein Indore hai, aur mujhe is baat ka garv hai. Indore sabse saaf-suthra hai, aur saatvi baar Swachh City ka darja bhi mil chuka hai.” Expressing his pride for both cities, he smartly avoided choosing just one as his favourite.
