Kajol Interacted With A Lucky Fan; Revealed The Character You Would Swap Her Life With!

For a Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, sat down with one of the most talented Bollywood actresses, Kajol. As they enjoyed some delicious Bengali dishes at Oh! Calcutta in Mumbai, Kajol spoke about films, life, kids and more. In every Sunday Brunch episode, we give a lucky follower of Curly Tales a chance to interact with our guest and ask them a few interesting questions. This time around, a lucky fan, named Avantika, got a chance to speak to Kajol on a video call, and here is how the fan interaction segment went down.

Kajol Interacted With A Lucky Fan

During the fan interaction segment, the lucky girl got a chance to speak with none other than Kajol. With her fun and thoughtful questions, Avantika managed to get some interesting insights straight from the star herself. Her first question was, “If you could swap lives with one of your iconic characters, who would it be and why?” The options? Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Simran from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, both iconic roles that Kajol absolutely nailed.

It was a tough call, considering both characters were among the most iconic in Bollywood history. But can you guess which one Kajol picked? She chose Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,  and her reason had everyone laughing. Kajol said she’d swap lives with Anjali because the film had no connection to reality whatsoever. She explained, “The heroine gets married in the end, there’s no mother-in-law, and there’s nothing after that, no problems at all.”

The next question was, “If you could bring back one thing from the film sets of the 90s and one thing you love about today’s sets, what would they be?” Kajol shared that the one thing she absolutely loves about today’s sets is vanity vans. As for what she’d bring back from the 90s, Kajol said, “The music. Because the music in the 90s was really good, it felt like real music.” She believes that today’s music somehow doesn’t have the same vibe as it had back then.

Which Film Does She Watch With Her Daughter?

During the fan interaction segment, the fan asked Kajol which movie she enjoys watching with her daughter and who is the bigger movie critic between them. Kajol revealed that her daughter, Nysa, is definitely the bigger movie critic. “She watches way more films than I do,” she said and added that Nysa always has a strong opinion, whether it’s about cinema, the world, feminism, or politics. “But the one film she and I have watched together at least 4–5 times is Mamma Mia,” Kajol shared.

The mother-daughter duo absolutely loves the movie Mamma Mia; they sing every song together, cry together, and go through all the emotions and drama every single time they watch it.

We then treated Kajol to some delicious Bengali sweets. Want to know which Bengali sweet is her favourite? Watch the full episode.
