Lovingly termed jannat, this picturesque tourist-favourite Indian destination is on most travel enthusiasts’ bucket lists. From Gulmarg to Srinagar, it is home to breathtaking places surrounded by nature’s aura. Amid so many places to travel to, we hardly see travellers planning a trip to Uri. Recently, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, visited Uri and had a wonderful time. Let’s witness this scenic town’s glory with her virtually.
Kamiya Jani Explored Uri Like Never Before
On this new episode of Sandese Aate Hai, Kamiya visited this alluring lesser-known border region and interacted with our country’s brave soldiers. Though Uri might be a not-much-preferred travel destination for many, this border town is the historical place that lets us sleep peacefully. And our exclusive video is an ode to respect and honour everyone guarding India and working hard relentlessly, far away from their families and loved ones.
Surrounded by high mountains, this historically rich town in the arms of the Jhelum River opens doors to heavenly natural beauty. Uri, an untouched paradise, is home to undisturbed magnificent views. Known as India’s last border post, it is the largest and the closest town to the Line of Control (LOC).
How To Travel To Uri?
Tourists can board a flight to land at Srinagar airport to visit this incredible offbeat town. After arriving, board a cab to reach your destination. En route, there lies multiple checkposts accompanied by magical views. In three hours, you will be in Uri.
Exploring The Town, Meeting Soldiers, Giving Them Letters & More
In this Sandese Aate Hai episode, Kamiya visited Uri’s local market, headed to famous restaurants and eateries, and explored Chinar Nau Jawan Club, URI Military Cantt, Kaman Aman Post, and beautiful historical spots. At Kaman Aman Setu, she stood the closest to the LoC. What a wonderful experience!
One of the most special highlights of this exclusive trip was meeting our soldiers and handing them handwritten letters from their families. It was an endearing and heartwarming moment of exchanging good wishes, love, and respect between them and their loved ones.
