What is the best way to spend a wholesome Sunday? Well, Karishma and her husband Varun turned a basic Sunday into a Funday by embracing the gajar ka halwa season. Over the weekend, they tried their hands at cooking this rich and creamy dessert.
Not only did Karishma and Varun made gajar halwa but they also cooked its healthier version. Instead of using sugar, ghee, and milk, they used jaggery powder, oats milk, and vegan products.
The couple sat together and grated carrots for the tasty sweet. Karishma also shared glimpses of cooking the dessert. The end result of thier vegan gajar halwa, garnished with cashew nuts, looked too tempting!

Gajar halwa tastes the most delicious when prepared with the best quality ingredients. To make this delectable dessert, purchase fresh red carrots from markets. Follow this simple vegan gajar halwa recipe and enjoy the winter season to the fullest.
- Start by peeling the skin of carrots and washing thoroughly. Next, use a grater to grate carrots and get the thinnest shreds.
- Add some vegan ghee to a pan and cook and soften freshly grated carrots for about 15 minutes.
- Pour oats milk and stir gently for at least 10 minutes. Cook on medium heat till milk reduces to half and its consistency thickens.
- Next, add jaggery powder, sprinkle cardamom powder to the mixture, and cook for a few more minutes.
- Meanwhile, fry some cashew nuts in coconut oil or vegan ghee.
- Once vegan gajar halwa is ready, garnish with cashew nuts and enjoy!
