Devotees from different places in India are travelling to Sabarimala Temple to offer prayers to Lord Ayyappa. A bus carrying Sabarimala devotees travelling from Karnataka met with a terrible accident near Wayanad. The life-threatening accident occurred on November 19, 2024. Police officials shared information about the terrifying accident in Kerala.
Bus Carrying Sabarimala Devotees Met With A Scary Accident Near Wayanad

According to details provided by the police, the bus was carrying a total of 45 passengers from Karnataka. Two among them were kids. After a spiritual experience at the Sabarimala temple, they were on their way to return to Hunsur. En route to their destination, the bus overturned near Thirunelli in Wayanad in an unfortunate turn of events.
The horrifying accident reportedly happened in the early morning, at about 6 AM. 27 people travelling in the vehicle suffered injuries. According to a report by The Free Press Journal, they were rushed to Mananthavady Medical College in Wayanad for treatment. Thankfully, none of them sustained any major injuries in this bus accident.
The news of the bus carrying Sabarimala passengers overturning in Kerala broke out during the ongoing Mandala-Makaravilakku festival. The annual event began on November 15 with the holy temple opening its doors for pilgrims. With this, the auspicious Sabarimala pilgrimage season started as well. Every year, thousands and lakhs of devotees visit the temple to worship and celebrate grand festivities.
Another Bus Accident Was Reported Recently

A minibus was carrying Sabarimala devotees from Tamil Nadu. On this journey to the temple, the vehicle overturned at Attivalavu, near Erumeli. The accident was reported on Sunday. At around 8 PM, the minibus overturned and injured four passengers. None of them suffered from any serious health issues. Injured pilgrims were admitted to Erumeli’s government hospital and Mukkoottuthara’s Assisi Hospital.
According to a report by Onmanorama, a ward member of Kanamala shared that the driver likely lost control while driving. A slope and a curve en route might have been the reason behind the disbalance and getting overturned.
