Kerala eased the COVID-19 restrictions keeping in mind the dip in Coronavirus cases. The government allowed the hotels, restaurants, eateries, bars, and theatres to function with full occupancy. The capacity of people in public functions has also been increased. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran states “The plan is to reopen the tourism sector as early as possible. We’ve opened the temples with restrictions. Similarly, tourist centres will also have reasonable restrictions.”
Kerala Makes Masks Mandatory For Tourists
Kerala opened the state for domestic tourists after a long hiatus. The state also pumped ₹450 crores of loan to support its tourism sector. The rules included wearing masks, maintaining a minimum of 6 feet distance from others, refraining from spitting in public, among many others.
