Known as India’s first one of its kind and also Kerala’s first and largest IT park, Technopark is completely flooded. After heavy rains lashed many parts of Kerala on Sunday, Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram was one of the badly hit places. Kerala’s Technopark is one of the spots in Thiruvananthapuram to face massive flooding. Netizens shared visuals from the place, and one could easily spot people being rescued in boats.

The southernmost district of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, saw flooding and waterlogging on Sunday in many districts. Trains had to be rescheduled and delayed since parts of the area were still submerged in water.
In numerous residential areas near Technopark Phase-III, the Thettiyar canal overflowed, and flooding also occurred in Technopark Phase-I, close to the Gayathri and Amstor buildings. Due to significant flooding in the neighborhood, Technopark’s major front gate has been temporarily locked.
Many techies who were staying at the area’s hostels and hotels for paying guests were left stranded. However, when the fire and rescue crew came, they used boats to transport them to the camps and higher regions. (As per MoneyControl)

Asianet News said that a number of female students needed to be rescued in boats from their flooded hostel and taken to safer locations. Water seeped into residences at the Technopark complex in Kazhakootam, a Thiruvananthapuram suburb, forcing residents to flee.
The worst rain and flood to ever strike the IT park, said Rajeev Krishnan, a spokesman for Prathidhwani, a group for the welfare of techies in Technopark.

Social media users shared pictures from the site that showed how many people were rescued on boats. Some netizens questioned the lack of infrastructure at these places. Some videos also showed people wading through waist-deep water.
On Monday, though, the rains temporarily stopped, and most of the flooded and waterlogged areas saw a decrease in water levels.

According to the weather service, cyclonic circulations were present across coastal neighborhoods in Tamil Nadu and over the Lakshadweep region, which is adjacent to the coast of Kerala and the Southeast Arabian Sea.
It stated that many locations in Kerala were anticipated to have mild to moderate rainfall, with isolated areas of severe rainfall, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning due to their influence.
Four districts in the state—Thrivananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha—saw the issuance of an orange alert on Sunday, while eight districts received a yellow alert. Nedumanagad, Varkala, and Neyyattinkara are the places most severely impacted.
Numerous regions of the city, not just Technopark, are inundated. Additionally flooded were places like Gowreeshapattom, Chackai, Sreekaryam, Kazhakootam, and Kulathoor. At Pothencode, Venjaramoodu, Ambalathinkara, and Thekkumoodu, numerous homes either completely or partially fell.
A tree collapsed on the main road between Balaramapuram and Neyyattinara, causing flooding and traffic congestion. However, there have been no recorded casualties. (As per The Indian Express)
