Get On Board ‘The Gravy Train’, KFC’s First-Ever-Themed Train

Calling out to all the mad lovers of KFC and Rugby in Auckland, did you get on board the newest train rolled out by KFC for the first time? Yes, you read that right. KFC launched their first-ever-themed train, ‘The Gravy Train’ for anyone with tickets to the Blues vs Force rugby game in Auckland on April 5, 2024. It was a free-on-board session with free-flowing KFC meals.

Some of the lucky ticket holders of Blues vs Force from Britomart station to Eden Park were in fact greeted by Carlos Spencer, former New Zealand rugby union player. He was dressed up in a classic white suit, just like the man in the KFC logo. Spencer was also the ‘Train Conclucktor’ on KFC’s The Gravy Train. Passengers were served finger-lickin’ good chicken from KFC in limited edition snack boxes to pump up the audience before the game.

The Purpose Behind This Yummy & Crispy Campaign

Everyone loves a fantastic PR campaign, and we have to agree that this one is deliciously unique. One of the foremost reasons behind this campaign was to show support for Auckland Transport. They provide free public services for all event ticket holders. Therefore, they urge citizens to utilise public transport for major events. It is always great when brands think about their customers and go to great lengths to make the (train) ride smooth.

In addition to KFC supporting Super Rugby, they have also established ‘Super Delivery’ for their home delivery services. This includes rugby fans on KFC’s The Gravy Train. And having delish KFC meals on a Friday night while watching the game in the comfort of your home. KFC also removed its delivery service charges from April 5th to April 7th  for orders placed through its website or app. Not just that, they also shared a code ‘SUPER’ where customers saved up to $7.99 (₹400 approx). KFC never fails to deliver!
