Kolkata Metro Updates: Operations To Begin On Blue Line At 10:40 PM

We have great news for daily metro commuters, especially people who return home quite late at night, after usual office hours. The Kolkata Metro Railway authorities recently announced the beginning of experimental night services on the Blue Line. Starting on June 26, 2024, these operations will kickstart at 10:40 PM from Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash metro stations.
An important point to remember is that these operations will be in action only on weekdays, from Monday to Friday. Passenegrs will need to get metro tokens from the Automatic Smart Card Recharge Machines for these journeys as no counters will be operational during these hours, according to a report by IBG News.

A brand-new project of Kolkata Metro Railway is to install a Battery Energy Storage System on the Blue Line. According to a report by Rail Analysis India, the department has ordered it already. Once installed, this will be the first metro line nationwide to have this system. It will be a major contribution to restoring power during any grid failure or power outage. The newest updates of the Kolkata metro reflect a promising future for the networks.
Latest Information About The Orange Line

Commuters can travel on the 5.5 km stretch between New Garia and Ruby More on Orange Line. The good news is that soon they will be able to access the next 4.39 km stretch connecting Beleghata. Soon, metros will operate till Beleghata, according to a report by CNBC TV18.
