Here’s All About The Trial Runs On Kolkata Metro’s Ruby-Beleghata Stretch:
The expanded stretch of Kolkata’s Orange Line bridges Ruby crossing and Beleghata metro station along the E M Bypass. The trial runs will begin on this stretch on April 27. The soon-to-be-conducted trial runs will have some goals. According to the recently released statement, Metro Railway stated that the trial on the extended stretch of Orange Line may help in providing information to understand whether the operations can begin from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata in the future. It will help to evaluate the recent updates and conditions.
Right now, regular metro operations are provided between New Garia and Ruby Crossing stretch. This part of the corridor comprises a distance of 5.4 km and covers a total of 5 metro stations as well. The stations are:
- Kavi Subhash
- Satyajit Ray
- Jyotirindra Nandi
- Kavi Sukanta
- Hemanta Mukhopadhyay
The extended development of this stretch will be crucial in providing the option to change between the Blue Line and the Orange Line at the Kavi Subhash metro station, according to a report by Zee Business. The Blue Line of the Kolkata metro runs between Dakshineswar and New Garia. Once the operations commence, passengers will have the easier preference to shift from one line to another very conveniently.
How Will The Authorities Conduct The Trial Runs On Saturday?
The concerned official will use one empty metro train for the trials tomorrow, according to a report by The Financial Express. This empty rake will be used for runs on the UP and DN lines. Ahead of the test and trial, the Commissioner of Railway Safety inspected this stretch. Seeing the results of the inspection, the Commissioner stated some plans to boost the development and improve infrastructure.
