As per a report by The Times of India, Kolkata faced its heaviest rainfall in nearly four decades, leaving roads submerged. Water entered many houses and residential complexes. Unfortunately, eight people died of electrocution.
According to the IMD forecast, the city will continue to face heavy rain and thunderstorms till September 28. This could disrupt traffic and cause more waterlogging. Authorities are urging residents to stay alert and avoid stepping out during intense downpours. Hopes remain that the city gets a break just in time for Durga Puja.
