Alipore Zoo In Kolkata To Get A Cloakroom Ahead Of Durga Puja
If you’ve ever visited a zoological park, you’d know that walking for long hours, sometimes in the heat, to patiently spot animals, is a given. Add to that heavy backpacks, water bottles and other sundries and it will just be a tiring experience. Looks like Alipore Zoo in Kolkata heard the woes of its visitors. For the first time in 149 years, the West Bengal Zoo Authority has approved the implementation of a cloakroom service, as per a report by The Indian Express. So, within the premises of Alipore Zoo, will stand a cloakroom facility. This facility will see the light of day ahead of the Durga Puja season in the city.
To enhance visitor convenience and streamline guest experience, the Alipore Zoological Garden in Kolkata is set to introduce a dedicated cloakroom facility within its premises. The much-awaited cloakrooms will be installed ahead of Durga Puja 2025. Visitors will no longer have to struggle to manage their belongings in Alipore Zoo while holding their little ones. They can deposit their belongings and store them in the cloakroom within the premises for free, and have their hands free for their kids.
1000 Cabinets For Visitors To Store Belongings
Arun Mukherjee, the director of Alipore Zoo, revealed the exact location of the cloakroom to The Indian Express. He stated that it will be located near the main ticket counter to ensure maximum accessibility and convenience for visitors. Moreover, Mukherjee stated that the facility will have about 1000 cabinets and will be free of charge. These services will be fully operational by the upcoming Durga Puja festival, aimed at attracting the festive crowd.

Earlier, Alipore Zoo always advised its visitors to avoid carrying excess baggage. With the availability of the cloakroom, there will be a dedicated space within the zoo’s premises for visitors to store their belongings hassle-free.
