Flurys has a special place in the hearts of Kolkatans. It is a tea room on Park Street founded by Mr and Mrs J Flury in 1927. The European-style cafe is an iconic spot in Kolkata. Most of all, it is especially known for its chicken patties, lemon tarts and other confectionery items. And now, the heritage brand has a new 26-seater outlet on Nehru Road, Darjeeling.

The cafe’s official Instagram handle gave a glimpse of the new Darjeeling outlet that has rosy pink interiors, wooden tables with plush vintage-styled chairs, and an overall cosy vibe. Just the kind of place you’d want to sip a hot cup of Darjeeling tea in the Himalayas. The caption read, “Join us where timeless flavours, fine confections and thoughtful moments come together in a setting as graceful as the brand itself. Be a part of the Flurys tradition, now beautifully woven into the spirit of Darjeeling.”

Flurys in Darjeeling also has a full-fledged counter displaying biscuits, puffs, cookies, desserts and much more. The cafe’s bakes make the perfect accompaniments to their signature tea. As per The Telegraph India, Rajesh Singh, National Head of Flurys, said that they knew Darjeeling, or the ‘Queen of Hills’, could be a perfect spot for their next outlet.

He also added that this place will allow people to enjoy a quiet moment right in the middle of bustling Darjeeling Mall Road. Earlier, Flurys opened outlets in Gangtok and Siliguri, and this Darjeeling outpost is the latest addition.
