We explored one of Delhi’s busiest markets, Lajpat Nagar with Yechan Lee and of course, we had to make him try the delicious street food of this market. So, we took him to Siya Ram ke Chole Kulche which is nestled inside the main market. The place is so famous that Delhiites from across the city come here to savour the delicious chole kulche. This little kiosk is more than 70 years old and when we told Charlie about this, he hilariously exclaimed, “Toh mere ke papa janam lene se phele hi yeah janam le liya tha!”

Surprisingly, Charlie had never tried chole kulche, although he loves chole bhature. So, he was quite excited to try this iconic Delhi dish. We got him medium spicy chole, of course, topped with lots of onions and the mirch ka achar that the place is known for. He was surprised to know how famous the place is, especially seeing the crowd and people waiting in line to grab their plates. From the looks of it, he definitely liked the flavours of the dish.

Besides this dish, he also loves biryani and egg rolls, especially the ones he used to enjoy as a kid in Patna.

Taking a trip down memory lane, he reveals that when he was a kid, he would often have egg rolls while coming home from school. He says this dish is purely nostalgic for him and he has a lot of memories around it.
