Kota, the famous student city in Rajasthan, is all set to get an airport soon. The upcoming airport will be of the greenfield kind. It is hoped that the new airport will transform the tourist landscape of the city. Not just boosting tourism, the airport will also provide improved connectivity. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this new upcoming airport in Kota, Rajasthan.
Kota Airport: All You Need To Know About It
According to an article which was recently published by The Financial Express or FE, the land for the airport will be provided by the state government for free. An accord was signed by the Airports Authority of India or AAI, the Civil Aviation Authority of India or CAAI, and the Urban Development Department or UDD.
The AAI will overlook the construction of the airport and as per a recent article published by Patrika, the construction will be completed within 2.5 years of commencement. In addition to this, the article also mentioned that the airport will stretch across a whopping 440 hectares.
What is more, the total cost of construction of the airport is estimated at ₹1,000 crores. This greenfield airport will have a runway that stretches across 3.5 kilometres. As per the Patrika article, the length of the runway was previously fixed at 2.8 km.

Other Important Details That You Would Need To Know
The airport will be situated 15 kilometres from Kota and 20 kilometres from Bundi. This will make it significantly easier for more people to access the city. It will be a major boost to the local economy as well as to the local tourism industry.
Bhajanlal Sharma, who is the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has stated that the airport will benefit a number of citizens of Kota and will be very beneficial for the local economy.
