KARO HOME, Kurla, Mumbai’s Second Triumph In Cancer Support
KARO HOME, Kurla is not just another accommodation; it’s a haven, a shelter built on resilience and compassion. The inception of KARO HOME Sion in 2019 marked a response to the dire need for lodging options for individuals battling cancer in Mumbai. Since then, it has been a beacon of hope for over 250 families, offering solace and a sense of community during their arduous healing journey.
However, the story doesn’t end there. A new chapter unfolds as KARO HOME, Kurla, opens its doors—a 21-bed refuge meticulously crafted for teenage and young adult male Bravehearts seeking respite amidst their treatment. Beyond mere lodging, it’s a haven designed with care, ensuring a clean, hygienic, and nurturing environment. Weekly provisions ensure proper nutrition, acknowledging the importance of holistic care.
Yet, it’s not just about the physical space. Within its walls lies a thoughtfully curated recreation area—a space for residents to unwind, bond, and share experiences. Here, they can read, play games, watch TV, and, most importantly, connect with fellow Bravehearts, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support.

A Sanctuary Of Strength For Cancer Warriors
KARO HOME, Kurla, extends its care beyond the physical comforts. It offers counselling sessions, recognising the emotional toll that cancer takes not only on patients but also on their caregivers. Moreover, art and music therapy sessions aim to heal on multiple levels, creating a holistic environment conducive to recovery.
Driven by the passion to provide unwavering support, KARO has dedicated immense efforts to this endeavour. The second home is another step towards their overarching mission—a mission that promises free accommodation, nourishment, and holistic support to patients undergoing cancer treatment in Mumbai.
The first home, specifically tailored for female patients, commenced its journey in 2018, strategically located near key hospitals. Since its inception, it has provided support to 72 patients and their caregivers, ensuring over 150 days of a secure and contented stay. With the unwavering support of the community, KARO aims not just to stop at Kurla. They also envision the opening of ten more KARO HOMES in the foreseeable future.
Each home is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to stand by those battling cancer.
