Ladakh To Build 10 Percent Of Roads Using Plastic Waste
The administration of Union Territory Ladakh will build at least 10 per cent of its roads using growing plastic. This will preserve ecology and also reduce carbon footprints in the Himalayas. To put these plans into action, Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) is now training local engineers to build roads using plastic waste. The Ladakh administration has also approved these plans to use plastic waste in the construction of roads in the hilly destination.

This Will Help Ladakh Become Carbon Neutral
According to a report by The Kashmir Walla, Divisional Commissioner Ladakh stated that Ladakh engineers and officials are learning to reuse plastic waste for road construction. Advanced techniques for the same are being learnt by them. Using plastic waste on roads will help Ladakh in its mission to become carbon-neutral. This will protect Ladakh’s fragile environment and make it an eco-friendly sustainable destination.
