IPL Was Modi’s Brainchild
The Indian Premier League was Lalit Modi’s brainchild and the worldwide success is because of him as well. He had fled India in 2010 facing various corruption cases. His passport was officially cancelled because of an Enforcement Directorate(ED) complaint. A Blue Corner Interpol notice was also issued by the Enforcement Directorate for the violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) against Modi when he was IPL chief. The Blue notice simply means an order to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities related to a crime. BCCI had also filed a complaint about misappropriation of funds amounting to ₹468 crore against modi with Chennai police.

No Extradition, No Red Corner Notices
A disciplinary committee including Arun Jaitley, Chirayu Amin, senior Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) functionaries and Jyotiraditya Scindia had officially charged Lalit Modi of about 8 charges of financial improprieties. BCCI imposed a lifetime ban on Lalit Modi in 2013. Indian investigating agencies are looking for Lalit Modi, who is now staying in London, in connection with several allegations of corruption and money laundering. People had high hopes that the fugitive Lalit Modi would be apprehended and justice would be served, but there isn’t even an extradition proceeding against him or a Red Corner Notice. This clearly states that he is free to roam the world but not India.
