Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina’s football team, was held by Chinese border police on Monday as he arrived with the team in the nation to play a friendly match. Due to a problem with his passport, security personnel briefly stopped the football player. According to reports, the 35-year-old did not seek a visa before his trip.

According to local media accounts, his visa was allegedly delayed because he was travelling using his Spanish passport rather than his Argentine passport, which did not have a Chinese visa. He left the airport after the issue was fixed, which took around 30 minutes.
