On January 7, devastating wildfires started in Los Angeles and they continue to burn across the city. The life-threatening high winds have worsened the situation and forced hundreds of thousands of people to be evacuated and displaced to safer places. To provide some relief to the evacuated people and the first responders, several L.A. restaurants are serving free meals and shelters.
Los Angeles Restaurants Offer Free Meals To Wildfire Evacuees
According to Hindustan Times, multiple wildfires are burning in Southern California, including the Palisades Fire west of Los Angeles, the Eaton Fire north of Pasadena, and the Sunset Fire in the Hollywood Hills. So far, the Palisades Fire has burned through over 17,234 acres of land. Thousands of structures have been destroyed by the fire, including several restaurants. While many eateries in the city have been temporarily closed this week, several in less impacted areas are now serving free meals to evacuees, first aid workers, and firefighters.
One such restaurant that stands out is Spago, a high-end Beverly Hills restaurant owned by world-renowned restaurateur Wolfgang Puck. The restaurant is popular for hosting celebs like Taylor Swift and Kanye West. They are now offering free food to first responders who are fighting the wildfire throughout the weekend.
