By developing 45 ropeways across key tourist destinations, including Raigad Fort, Matheran, and Elephanta Caves. This ambitious project is expected to enhance tourism, improve accessibility, and offer a scenic alternative to traditional transport modes.

The project will provide seamless travel to remote locations, reducing dependency on road transport while offering breathtaking aerial views.

The development of ropeways in Maharashtra aligns with the government’s vision of boosting sustainable and efficient transport infrastructure. Sites such as Raigad Fort and Elephanta Caves. These currently require strenuous treks or long ferry rides and will soon be more accessible, making them even more attractive to travellers.

  • Elephanta Caves: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, presently reached via ferry from Mumbai, which will see improved connectivity through this initiative.
