India Weather Update: Cloudburst in Dehradun, Orange Alert in Chennai
Nature’s beauty carries its own fury.
Last night in Sahastradhara, Dehradun, the gentle streams turned into a furious river. A sudden #cloudburst washed away the calm and left fear in its place. I pray the missing return safely and the mountains find their silence again.

Landslide in Himachal Pradesh, Rain Alerts Across States
Heavy rain has once again battered Himachal Pradesh, triggering floods and landslides. The downpour, which began around 11 pm on Monday, caused the Son Khad River to overflow, sweeping away several vehicles. At least three people have died in the Nihri area of Mandi district. Authorities are currently monitoring the situation. Further updates are awaited.
According to a report by News 24, IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in the northeast, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Maharashtra’s Pune and Mumbai can also expect moderate to heavy showers on Tuesday, a day after both cities witnessed intense waterlogging following heavy rainfall.
Patchy rainfall is likely in Delhi, while Bengaluru is struggling with high humidity and a chance of moderate rain. Light to moderate showers are also expected in West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Bihar on September 16.
Since rainfall is expected across multiple states, it is best to remain cautious. Avoid low-lying areas and unnecessary travel. Hopefully, this may be one of the last spells before the monsoon finally ends for this year!
