Man Books Window Seat On Vande Bharat, Turns Out To Be Aisle; Commends Railways For Their Quick Response

Vande Bharat

Whether you’re flying on an aircraft or travelling on a train, window seats are always the preferred choice! Now, imagine booking a window seat only to find that there has been an error and you have been placed on an aisle seat instead. That’s exactly what happened to a passenger travelling on the Vande Bharat train. He complained to Indian Railways about the same and here’s what happened.

Man Shares Window-Aisle Seat Predicament On Vande Bharat

Abhijeet Anand was recently travelling on a Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to Prayagraj. He booked a window seat on the train. However, when he boarded, he found it was actually an aisle seat. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his grievance and even attached a screenshot of his ticket that clearly showed that booked a window seat.

He also shared a picture of the train which showed that his seat number 34 was actually an aisle seat. Whereas his e-ticket showed the 34-seat number to be a window seat. In his tweet, Abhijeet said that he doesn’t have a problem with this arrangement but has advised the Indian Railways to look into this matter as it “might become a problem for future passengers.”

In his tweet, Abhijeet Anand tagged @IndianRailMedia, @RailMinIndia, and @RailwaySeva. Paying heed to this issue, RailwaySeva responded quickly and said that they had escalated the issue “to the concerned official.” Abhijeet was quite impressed by the prompt response by the Railway officials. In a follow-up tweet, he said. “Two people came and addressed the issue of the incorrect seating arrangements. It is truly commendable that Indian Railways took action and marked the problem within 40 minutes.”

He again mentioned that he had no problem with his seating arrangement and was happy to complete his journey in an aisle seat. His reason for highlighting the issue was “so that it can be corrected and does not cause problems for future passengers.”
