Snakes are a common sight during the monsoon season in many parts of the world, especially in tropical regions. In a viral video from Karnataka, a Twitter user and an Indian Forest Service officer, Susanta Nanda shares a video on Twitter of a man rescuing a huge King Cobra and then releasing it into the wild.
Here’s How The King Cobra Was Rescued
The IFS officer explained in his tweet that the King Cobra is a critical link in the food chain and helps to preserve the ecosystem’s delicate equilibrium. In the video, a skilled snake catcher using a sharpened stick successfully rescues a massive King Cobra that is around 15 feet long. He controls the large snake and guides it towards a big bag with skill. Following the procedure, the snake is released back into its natural habitat, deep within the forest.
The video was shared on May 4. Since being posted, the clip has accumulated close to 15,000 views and the numbers are only increasing. Additionally, the tweet has received close to 1,100 likes.
The video captured the attention of internet users, who praised the experienced snake catcher for his impressive agility and knowledge. People posted various comments while reacting to the video. While some praised the man for his skills, others expressed how the scene captured on the video looked scary.
According to the Internet, the snake-rescue person in this video is Jayakumar SS, who is one of the dedicated wildlife conservationists who work to solve the human-snake conflict in their communities.

Humans & Their Encounters With King Cobras
In more similar instances, doctors at a district hospital in Kushinagar, UP appeared at a loss for words when a drunk snakebite victim ended up bringing a dead King Cobra into the emergency ward.
Salauddin Mansoori, a 35-year-old resident of Padrauna, claimed the snake “died after biting him” twice on his foot and hand. According to media accounts, Mansoori requested an anti-venom injection to cure his snakebite after telling the physicians that the approximately three-foot-long cobra had died after biting him.
Even the now-dead snake that he had brought in and placed in a polythene bag was brought in for identification and to purportedly support his statements.
