If you, like most people, struggle to keep a straight face while drinking lemon or lime juice, then you will find this quite interesting. André Ortolf from Germany has bagged Guinness World Records for ‘fastest time to drink one litre of lemon juice through a straw’ and the ‘fastest time to drink one litre of lime juice through a straw’. He claimed both these titles on the same day by drinking these highly acidic juices in seconds! Scroll on for all the details.
Man Drinks 1 Litre Of Lemon & Lime Juice To Set New Records
Prolific record breaker André Ortolf has reclaimed two of his old records that he lost to USA-based David Rush earlier this year. André chugged one litre of acidic lemon and lime juice, each, in 13.30 seconds and 13.51 seconds, respectively to win back titles he first claimed in 2020.
According to Guinness World Records’ website, he held the lemon juice record in 2020 with a time of 16 seconds. He also held a similar record for lime juice in 2020 with 16.82 seconds. He briefly lost these titles to David, another prolific record-breaker. David was able to drink 1 litre of lemon juice in 13.53 seconds and 1 litre of lime juice in just 13.99 seconds earlier this year.
So, how does André drink these highly acidic juices in seconds? Talking about his technique, he told Guinness World Records, “With both records, it’s very important to pull quickly from the straw. My technique is to swallow as little as possible and just let the juice run down, which saves time.”
