Former Masterchef Australia judge and celebrity chef Gary Mehigan absolutely loves Indian cuisine. He has often taken to his Instagram handle to share his take on popular Indian recipes and just appreciate what our vibrant, rich and ancient cuisine has to offer. Recently, Gary Mehigan declared in an interview that Indian street food is the best in the world. Here’s more about it.

Gary Mehigan Says India Has The Best Street Food In The World

In an interview with Eshita Bhargava of Financial Express, Chef Gary Mehigan revealed that he believes Indian street food is the best in the world. Elaborating on his opinion, Gary says that after 15 or more visits to India he has indulged in a lot of street food. The Aussie chef also expressed his love for chai. He often stops from place to place just to enjoy a cup of piping hot cardamom or ginger chai.

He Earlier Travelled To Nagaland For The Hornbill Festival

Recently, Gary Mehigan visited Nagaland to attend the famous Hornbill Festival 2022 as part of a NatGeo show. During this time he shares Insta stories of his culinary indulgences. It included fermented bamboo, green chilly chicken, rice, local dal, boiled veggies and more. He further stated to Financial Express that his latest travel to Nagaland opened his eyes to a different type of Indian food.

Well, Chef Gary Mehigan’s love for Indian food is truly heart-warming. The Masterchef Australia honcho headed to Kerala to celebrate Onam Sadhya this year. He has a soft corner for South Indian food. And earlier also appreciated the masterful textures of the simple Medu Vada.
