Anand Mahindra Recommends Nongjrong in Meghalaya

Mahindra Group honcho, Anand Mahindra, took to his X handle to report a short video of Nongjrong, popularly known as ‘a village above clouds.’ Sitting at an elevation of 3,590 feet above sea level in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, the high altitude and frequent presence of clouds have lent the village its popular moniker.

The video shared by Anand Mahindra shows an entire village perched on a hill, with clouds descending just a wee bit over the roofs of homes. It almost looks like the locals of Nongjrong can touch these clouds if they lift their hands. Nestled about 50 km away from Meghalaya’s capital, Shillong, the entrepreneur called the village “one of the exceptional spots in India that the world knows little about.”
