There are many different types of agricultural and horticultural products produced in Meghalaya due to its varied range of agro-climatic conditions. These crops are primarily naturally organic since they are traditionally raised by local populations.

These elements contribute to the state’s produce gradually gaining recognition for its distinctive quality and flavour. Products like Lakadong turmeric, Khasi mandarins with GI tags, and Kew pineapples are becoming more and more well-known.

The state administration reported that pineapples from the state had become more and more well-known in recent years.
