While Disneyland has long been a fantasy vacation destination for everyone( adults included) everywhere. However, it has never been close to home for Australians. In reality, the most recent news of the Disney cruise line’s arrival in Australia is the closest thing that Aussies have experienced. However, rumours are already circulating that Mickey and Minnie may move to Melbourne!

Lord Mayor Sally Capp asserted that they should have a Disney theme park in Melbourne as the city is Australia’s capital of fun. She further stated that she knew a Disney theme park in their town would be tremendously popular with locals, including herself, visitors, students, and traders. Melburnians adore a thrilling ride. Thrill roller-coasters might soar over the Yarra as part of a Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, or Animal Kingdom.

For a time, there have been murmurs that the famous theme park may finally open in Melbourne, and potential plans even included Disney executives travelling to Australia in 2005 to study potential sites. Sadly, nothing ever came to pass.
