1. Pune Metro’s Doors Stopped Working
Pune metro has been making the headlines for some inconveniences faced by the metro trains and passengers travelling inside the metros. There have been 2 instances when some doors of the metro stopped functioning completely. The doors did not work accordingly after reaching a station on the metro line and it continued for about 10 minutes, according to a report by The Times of India. Currently, a proper process of inspection is taking place for all the metros.
2. Updates On The Orange Line Of The Kolkata Metro
Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Metro Railway Kolkata (@metrorailwaykol) shared a few pictures of the ongoing construction of the Orange Line.

While sharing the pictures of the under-construction Orange Line, Metro Railway Kolkata also added that the construction work is going on in full swing. This is creating a connection between New Garia and the Kolkata airport. This new rapid transit line is going to be such a significant addition to the City of Joy’s metro services. Kolkatans are waiting for the services to begin.
3. Kolkata Metro Railway Recorded A Spike Of Smart Card Users Recently
Kolkata metro’s Blue Line connects Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash metro stations. Covering more than 20 stations in between, a huge number of commuters use the metro services on a daily basis. This mode of transportation becomes extremely important during Durga Puja as people can easily visit most of Kolkata’s Durga Puja pandals by travelling on the metro’s Blue Line. To avoid the rush of standing near ticket counters, many people switched to using smart cards as well. Kolkata metro registered an increase of 9 per cent in issuing smart cards during the Durga puja festival in October. The rise has been reported at the Blue Line, according to a report by The Statesman. From Panchami to Dashami, about 41.65 lakh passengers travelled on this line.

4. Updates About The Yellow Line Of The Bengaluru Metro

He pointed out some concerns behind the initiation of services of the Yellow Line such as the enough the availability of rolling stocks and the TCMS software. It looks like the construction is now moving “in a desirable direction” after he addressed the issues “with various stakeholders, including CRRC, Titagarh Rail Systems, and BMRCL”.
5. DMRC To Introduce India’s First Shopping App For Metro
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is all set to introduce the fascinating Momentum 2.0 app. This app is the first of its kind in India as it is a platform for shopping virtually while commuting in the metros. Users can easily select their products while travelling and get their hands on them after reaching the metro station.
6. Updates About Nagpur Metro Phase II
A meeting was conducted recently to discuss the land acquisition process of the Nagpur metro’s phase II. Vipin Itankar, the District Collector, held this meeting, according to a report by The Times of India. The plan is to complete the metro project by the next year but the process is facing obstacles due to some pending plans and proposals.
